oce valorant · ranking snapshot:
ryu’s path has an unusual pause in the middle. the early landmarks came through the 2022 and 2023 circuit, including a strong showing at reflex, before their next appearance arrived with the 2026 invitational. that gap gives the return its own weight, but it does not erase the practical question of impact. ryu still works across sentinel and initiator duties, using cypher, sova, and killjoy to cover space, gather information, and make the round easier to read.
fragging has not been the reliable part of the package. damage and kill production have stayed low, so the value is more often found in assists and the occasional clean headshot than in taking over a series. even there, the supporting contribution remains limited rather than dominant. ryu’s best version is a connective player who helps a setup function, though the comeback stretch has not yet turned into a major statistical revival.
