oce valorant · ranking snapshot:
ryu’s path from txg to wave has a clear shape: a promising opening, then a more convincing high point when the stage got sharper. as a primary duelist, they bring real forward pressure, and their combat output suggests they can create the first crack in a round rather than wait for someone else to do it. the catch is that the damage does not always become lasting value. their survival and overall round involvement lag behind the force of their entries, leaving some attacks to burn brightly before the round has properly opened.
that tension makes ryu an interesting middle-ground player. raze, neon, and waylay give them several ways to start trouble, but the unfinished work is turning those openings into cleaner finishes and more rounds won. wave is the better clue to their ceiling: the tools are there, though the delivery still needs to travel with them. they are not a finished spearhead, but neither are they just charging for the sake of it.
